Booker DeVaughn gave the followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

During lunch, [Hap] began the meeting with announcements, starting with:

1.     PDG Eileen reminded us that Feb. is Rotary’s birthday month – 109 years old. She also reminded us that we need to continue to contribute to PolioPlus and the Annual Fund. Giving online is fine – you and our Club get credit.

2.     Eileen presented Shari Cantor with a new Paul Harris pin, representing Paul Harris Fellowship + 4. Congrats Shari.

3.     Bob reported on Vines – coming up quickly. We need to sell tickets. You can now purchase online

4.     Oscar announced PolioPlus is at $1789.

5.     Christine asked for volunteers for the Hanoc party at Children’s Museum, next Monday, Feb. 10

6.     Hap reminded us about the Jazz Brunch, April 6

7.     Oscar updated us on the water project in the Philippines. Ironically, our project was so successful, the local government is now interested in providing water to the schools.

Len Albert from the Plainville Club was a Rotarian visitor.

The 50/50 raffle is up to $62 and we did not have a winner today.

Our speaker was Gino Caro, owner of Fast Lane Sports Performance. Gino is a coach helping young athletes improve their performance.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:30, with the 4-way test.  The next meeting is Feb. 10  at Pondhouse Cafe.
