Reception at American School of the Deaf

Quite a few of our Club members attended the reception and tour of the new Gallaudet-Clerc Education Center at America School for the Deaf. Ed Peltier, Club Member and Executive Director of ASD, was our host and tour guide. It is an amazing facility, with a lot of technology in place to help deaf students learn. Some of the statistics that Ed provided are: 135 students, 90 who live on the campus; age range of 3 to 21; the old building, twice the square footage, took 10,000 gallons of oil every week during the winter to heat it! Thanks Ed for the very nice evening and information about ASD.
