Rotary 6th Grade Writing Project
Rotarian Tony Rodriguez opens the event
 
The Rotary Club of West Hartford held a luncheon to celebrate the Rotary Writing Project with the West Hartford Middle Schools on March 29th.  
A total of 32 students represented their schools to celebrate their accomplishment. Eight of the students read their piece as part of the program. The students writing focused on the Rotary theme "Making a Difference". 
 
Mar 19th Meeting
 
Guest speakers from the Fern Street Food Pantry.  The pantry is the newest program launched by The Fern Street Community Kitchen, which is operated by the Universalist Church of West Hartford with support from Foodshare, local merchants, and hundreds of local volunteers.  On the third Saturday each month,they distribute non-perishables, fresh produce, frozen meats, and eggs to qualified recipients and to date they have distributed over 3.5 tons of food.

A total of 32 students will represent their schools at an upcoming luncheon to celebrate their accomplishment. Eight of the students will read their piece as part of the program. The students writing will focus on the Rotary theme "Making a Difference".  The luncheon to celebrate the Rotary Writing Project with the West Hartford Middle Schools is scheduled for March 29th at 11:45 (new date and time!) at the University of St. Josephs, McGovern Hall, West Hartford, CT.
