MINUTES FOR THE MEETING OF
November 18, 2013 - 12:15 PM

Present: 35 Great Rotarians; 0 visiting Rotarians and 0 guests.

Mary Silverberg gave the invocation with thoughts of Thanksgiving and being appreciate for what we have, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. During lunch, Hap began the meeting with announcements, starting with:

1. Welcomed Mary Chase back to West Harford Rotary. Mary is returning after a ~3 year absence from the club.
2. The Board voted to donate $2000 to Typhoon Haiyan relief, split between ShelterBox and AmeriCares.
3. Kyle Egress made the following announcements:
4. Reminded all of the Open House at ASD on Wed evening, 20 November, 5-7.
5. This is the last week for collections for the WH Food Bank.
6. Oscar Santo Domingo reminded all about the Polio Plus campaign – he is still collecting donations. The club thermometer was displayed – we are still short of our goal.

Sergeant at Arms Todd Bower reports 35 Rotarians are present, with no visiting Rotarians and no guests. There were no Anniversaries or birthdays to report.

Happy dollars were collected. Mary Silverberg discussed her recent appearance before the West Hartford Town Council, where she discussed ITN and received a $25K grant. Ed Peltier noted two grandchildren baptized over the weekend. Donna Griffen passed around a signup sheet for holiday wreaths being sold by the New Britain / New Berlin Rotary Club - $20 ea. Hap reported that he had a great time at the Keith Urban concert.

The 50/50 raffle is up to $91 with no winner today. We are looking for King of clubs.

The remainder of the meeting was a Club Assembly. Don Chandler led a live demonstration of the club website.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:30, with Harry Davidson leading the 4-way test. The next meeting is
November 25, 2013 at Pondhouse Cafe.
