President Hap Leabman called the meeting to order. Robert Kor offered the invocation.

There were 26 members present and one visiting Rotarian from the Enfield club. Nobody won the card drawing and the pot now exceeds $200.

Happy birthday to Peter Kovalevich and Betty Basil.

There was no speaker today. Hap convened a club assembly and spoke about the international meeting in Lisbon. He reported that a top priority is strengthening the Rotary Foundation. This year’s Rotary International theme is “Engage Rotary, Change Lives.” He encouraged all members to sign up for at least one of the various club committees.

Hap also reported that Rotary and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation have made a further large financial commitment to the Polio Plus campaign. There was some discussion of talking points club members could use when addressing this topic with friends and relatives.

Cindy Lang distributed Lobsterfest posters and asked for volunteers to help hang them at various locations throughout town. An electronic copy and a letter will be provided suitable for emailing to potential diners. Tickets are being printed and will be available soon. We continue to look for sponsors. Kyle Egress is coordinating that effort and reports that we have already received $1,750 in sponsorship money toward a goal of $10,000.

Upcoming events:

• Vines of March will be either March 1 or March 8, 2014
• Jazz Brunch will be on April 6, 2014

Respectfully submitted,
