Rotary originally started in 1905 with Paul Harris and 3 colleagues, with a goal of helping each other's businesses. Yes, the ORIGINAL social networking was Rotary! Over the years, Rotary has downplayed the business networking potential of our organzation, as Service Above Self took center stage. Recently, though, the pendulum has swung back to where it's OK to, tastefully, talk about your vocation, profession and business. Indeed, as we try to attract younger members, those just beginning their careers, it is important to let prospects know it is OK to talk about what you do. More and more, Clubs are having once a month networking cocktail hours, classification talks at weekly meetings .... and ads on Club Runner!

Ads? Yes! take a look at the website of our neighbors across the River, http://www.easthartfordrotary.org . Notice at the top left there is a small box under "Website Sponsorship", cycling through various logos of Member's businesses. If you click on one, it will go to that businesses website.

The Board of our Club is pleased to announce that we can now offer website sponsorships on our Club website. The goal is twofold: (1) help defer the cost of ClubRunner and (2) let members tastefully make known their business. The cost of the sponsorship is $100 per year. Contact the Spotlight Editor if interested (click the link to my email in the top left corner). You'll need to provide a link to your website and a copy of your logo.

Soon, the District will be implementing a similar program on the District website.
