MINUTES FOR THE MEETING OF

Present: 31 Rotarians and 3 guests.
 
Mary Silverberg gave the invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
 
John Smeallie presented the ‘Professional Spotlight’ and discussed his business, ‘Full Circle Video’ and career as a videographer.
 
Club President’s remarks:
 
1.President Cindy shared a thank you latter from HANOC.
2.– Noted that a District Grant for the NICU project was accepted and that ‘the check is in the mail’
3.Reminded all of the upcoming District Conference 24-25 April in Hartford.
4. noted that next year we will be applying for a Global Grant.
5.-- discussed a Haiti water project with the St Thomas club.
6.Eileen Rau shared a Foundation Moment
7.Mary Silverberg – discussed the upcoming club event, attending a presentation of ‘Hair’ at the Playhouse on Park.  The club voted and chose Friday July 10th as the date.
 
Sergeant at Arms John Smeallie reports 31 Rotarians are present, including guests Marty Fins from the Newington club and two others. Don from ASD, Mark Jahne, and guest speaker Kitty Jo Reynolds were guests.
 
Guest speaker Kitty Jo Reynolds gave a presentation on Foodshare.  She noted that they provided over 12 million meals last year and that they are only filling ~ 1/3 of the need.  Besides providing food, they are helping people apply for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly known as Food Stamps) benefits, which requires a 15 page application and requires the person to visit a state office.
 
The meeting was adjourned at 1:30, with President Cindy leading the 4-way test.  The next meeting is April 13th, 2015 at Pondhouse Cafe.
