Jeff Murray was Our Guest
For a town that is only 170 Years Old, we Have an Extensive History
I believe that President Diane said something to the effect, "I could listen to these stories for hours!"
Jeff Murray presented to the Club; his presentation was based on Rotary meetings from the 1950s and 1960s. Back in the day, the local newspapers would report on what had transpired at the meetings. Tying these reports into the greater view (townwide and worldwide) provided an interesting window into our past. The stories are numerous, and although they may have seemed mundane at the time, they became a distinct part of who we are today.
Jeff is an analyst with Raytheon (formerly UTC) and a regular contributor to We-Ha.com. His love of the Town's history was inspired by long-time historian, Dr. Tracey Wilson, who taught at both Talcott Middle School and Conard High School for many years. Thank you Jeff, for your time an expertise!
