ITN Update
It's not easy to get around the Hartford Metro Region without a car, especially if you have any disability. ITN is tailored to seniors and visually challenged adults and serves residents in 15 towns is Central Connecticut.
Some years ago (2009), West Hartford Rotary was instrumental in providing seed money for the ITN (independent Transportation Network) Project. Our speaker at the March 25th meeting, was Kevin Farmer, who had shepherded this non-profit and kept its momentum going.
The service is available 7 days a week and 24 hours per day for any purpose. The service is supported entirely by private, rather than public resources. The drivers are all volunteers; they provide more than just a ride, they provide assistance at the destination too - everything from food shopping to waiting at the doctor's office.
