Gifts of Music Concert - Oct. 26

On Saturday October 26th President Hap attended a Gifts of Music fundraiser and presented them with a check for $2,360; half the proceeds of last April’s West Hartford Rotary Jazz Brunch. Superintendent of Schools and Fellow Rotarian Karen List was also honored at the event. There was a packed house with over 200 people present at the performance where students and West Hartford Schools Alumnae performed totally wowed the audience.

Our club has been supporting “The Gifts of Music” www.giftsofmusic.us, whose mission is to provide musical instruments and lessons for gifted and talented public school students who cannot afford to pay for them, for the past four years. During that time we have contributed over $9,000 to the organization.

Enclosed is a picture of the check presentation ceremony which was done at the beginning of the program. Our Club was also honored with a pull page in their event program which included information about our up-and-coming Jazz Brunch to be held on April 6, 2014, also shown below.
