Aug. 12 Speaker - Kevin Sullivan

Our speaker last week was the Commissioner of the CT Department of Revenue Services, Kevin Sullivan. He related how at one of his first meetings with Gov. Malloy, there was a Mark Twain saying projected on stage, "If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten". Kevin took that to heart and has made many changes in the Dept. since his appointment in 2011. The department has shrunk to about 2/3 it's size when he took the position. He's asked emplyees for suggestions on making the Dept. more customer and user friendly. Among other things, tax refunds are now being sent by debit card and direct deposit.
