During lunch, Cindy began the meeting with an update on Lobster Fest encouraging everyone to sell tickets. Also a reminder about what the money goes toward and how to speak with family and friends about what Rotary does.
Hap made some announcements:

• $500 to the Glastonbury club for their backpack drive for Hartford students
• Rotary Leadership institute meets November 2nd, Middlesex Comm College
• Encouragement to schedule and coordinate a Polio awareness day sometime around MLK day 2014
• Jim Goodrich is taking a leave of absence from the Rotary for health reasons.
There was a general discussion about getting more exposure for our club in the community
Sargeant at Arms, Todd Bower reports 21 Rotarians, 3 visiting Rotarians and 0 guests are present.
**The attendance was light today due to several Rotarians attending the golf outing**
• Susan Chandler, wife of Don Chandler visiting from the Wethersfield
• Eric Martin
• Fernando Vidal
No anniversaries or birthdays this week.
Happy dollars were collected.
• Shari Cantor sharing her experience hosting an Israeli ambassador
• Bennett happy to be back at Rotary after missing a few weeks.
The 50/50 raffle is up to $277 and we are looking for 7 of clubs. There was NO winner today.
THERE WAS NO SPEAKER TODAY
The meeting was adjourned at 1:20, with Hap leading the 4-way test. The next meeting is
