1. Hap discussed his attendance at ‘The Gifts of Music’ event, and that he presented a check for $2360 on behalf of the West Hartford Rotary. Hap also won tickets to see Keith Urban at Mohegan Sun.

2. Reminders about:
a. Foundation Dinner on 7 November
b. Rotary Leadership Institute this coming weekend 2 November. Don Chandler will be facilitating one of the sessions.
c. Rotary Scholars – two $5000 scholarships. Relatives of Rotarians are not eligible, however.

3. Ed Pelletier discussed an upcoming open house at the new ASD facility 20 November 5 – 7pm.
4. Kyle Egress (older Kyle) reminder that the Club will participate in the Liberty Bank Food Drive again this year. The bank will match up to 25 % of contributions from our Club and members. The Board decided to seed this with $500 plus all Happy Dollars from Oct. 1. through Thanksgiving. Last year, we made a contribution of $2,170.90 to the food bank.
5. Eileen discussed “End Polio Now Day” at the Springfield Armor (NBA minor league team) on January 19th at 3pm – tickets are $10 each and half of the proceeds will go to the Polio Plus campaign.

Sargeant at Arms Todd reports 31 Rotarians in attendance, with no visiting Rotarians and no guests.

No Anniversaries and birthdays this week

Happy dollars were collected. Many Happy dollars for the Red Sox and Thanksgiving Dinner food drive. Tony recognized Bob Lunden, a Rotarian of 42 years. Dave Mangs noted his donation to the End Polio Now campaign and how it was matched by his employer and then the Gates Foundation Match resulting in significant leverage of his donation.

The 50/50 raffle is up to $49 with no winner today – Bob Lunden and Eileen drew. We are (still) looking for the King of Clubs.

The remainder of the meeting was for Club Assembly.

• Don and Eileen discussed changes to the Rotary Foundation.
• Each committee member spoke briefly about their group and then signup sheets were passed around. The teams then met briefly after the meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:30, with Hap leading the 4-way test. The next meeting is
4 November at Pondhouse Cafe.

Respectfully submitted,
