Our speaker for last week's meeting was Carol O'Shea. She is the Executive Director of the Governor's Residence. The home was built in 1909 and Connecticut Governor's have actually used it as their residence since 1945. She arranges all the functions that take place at the Residence. She noted that non-profits can have a event for raising money or awareness at the Residence for $100. Carol announced the opening of the Sculpture Garden, featuring 24 works from Connecticut artists. Tours of the house and the sculpture garden can be arranged in advance for groups of 15 or more.
