Bruce gave a very inspiring invocation at last weeks meeting. He's kindly provided it to "Spotlight".

"A true Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG) is clear and compelling, serves as a unifying focal point of effort, and acts as a clear catalyst for team spirit. "

You Know a very famous BHAG that my mom heard at the Lincoln Memorial on 28th of August 1963 and which I know called many people to action, including my mom:

     I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created      equal."

I pray

that each of us find the serenity to accept the things we cannot change;
that each of us have the courage to change the things we can;
and that each of us have the wisdom to know the difference.

that when defining what we can change that we not be afraid to fail, that we embrace at least one big harry audacious  goal and that we tell all around us who can help us achieve it what our BHAG is.

Martin Luther Kings dream that all men be considered equal
Rotary's fight to eliminate Polio from our planet
or
the Arava Institute's goal of promoting peace in one small piece of the Middle East

I pray that each of us find many BHAG's to fight for in our life time.
